1. Host a Fun Summer Giveaway

Who doesn’t love a freebie? Giveaways are a great way to build up your email list, generate leads and increase awareness about your brand. We see influencers giving away a bundle of items all the time, but giveaways are not limited to physical things. Depending on your business, you could offer a service to your audience. Here at Freebird, we recently hosted a joint giveaway offering a branding and social media photoshoot, complete with an edited gallery and professional headshots.

Determine what item(s) or service would be helpful to your target audience. A giveaway does not have to be extravagant – the key is offering something of value that appeals to your target audience. You should also consider if there is an individual or business that would be interested in partnering with you for the giveaway. Giveaways are a fun tactic to spice up your content and increase brand awareness – don’t miss out!

2. Spice It Up with Summer Visuals

Don’t let the bright colors and distinct summer aesthetics scare you! Summertime has so many exciting visuals that can be used in your marketing materials such as posters, banners, and social media posts

No matter what your brand look is, you can find creative ways to tie in summer colors or images that draw in more brand attention. Sometimes deviating from your usual content look can be helpful. As long as it looks intentional and not too off-brand, fresh summer visuals are the perfect way to reengage with your audience. Breathe new life into your brand with some summer visuals!

3. Try Hot Flash Sales

This is a great way to get people excited about your products or services during the hot days of summer! Again, you do not have to be extravagant with the sale. Consider your most popular products or services and chose one to discount for a limited time. Flash sales typically do well when the discount rate is higher but the time window is brief. This sense of urgency and exclusivity will excite your audiences. Prepare some social media or email content ahead of time to advertise the sale and watch as it draws in fresh excitement for your brand!

4. Give Out a Freebie

Summer is the perfect time to offer a freebie. With all the craziness that summer brings, it can be best to keep things simple. You don’t need a big event to promote your business, just something that will get people talking and coming back for more! Just like with the giveaway, consider what will provide value to your audience.

5. Offer a One-Day Only Discount

One-day sales are another great way to get people into your store or site in droves. Quick, seasonal sales will appeal to your current audience base as well as generate buzz around your company and attract new customers. Again, don’t overcomplicate it – choose one product or service to discount that will provide value and excitement amongst your audience.

6. Post Behind-The-Scenes Content

It’s easy to forget how much work goes into creating those perfect photos we share on social media. If you want people to see the real side of what you do, share some behind-the-scenes photo or video content! It’ll help them connect with you as an individual and understand why they love what you do so much.

Do not let them forget that there is an actual person on the other side of the screen and you are spending valuable summer hours building up your business.

7. Polls

Polls are a simple and effective way to build awareness and engagement with your audience. Ask your audience about their favorite summer vacation spots, the most popular sunscreen brands, or even what they think about your company’s new product line.

Feeling a little burnt out on content or low on time? You can also use polls to quickly come up with fresh content ideas. Ask your audience what they want to hear more of, or gauge interest in certain topics by offering your audience a few choices. You are wasting your time if your content does not appeal to your audience so be sure to include them in the process every once in a while.

8. Collaboration

Easily reach a new pool of users by collaborating with other companies or individuals that do business in your industry. Whether it’s creating a joint promotion or simply sharing information about each other’s products, collaborating will help both businesses grow. As it benefits you both, many companies are open to collaborations, so do not let fear keep you from reaching out!

9. Share Summer Tips

When planning your content, remember to sprinkle in some helpful tips that are relevant to the summer season. For example, if it’s hot outside, share creative ways to stay cool while enjoying time in the sun (such as a small blowup pool – who says those are just for kids??). You could post your favorite barbecue dinner recipes or DIY activities for the backyard. Whatever you feel inspired to post, try to keep the practical tips relevant to your brand.

10. Celebrate Fun, Wacky & Bizarre Summer Holidays

There are so many fun holidays, big and small, during the summer months! Why not celebrate a few? For example, National Crayon Day is celebrated on August 22nd every year (yes, really!). If you specialize in content for children and parents, this would be the perfect addition to your feed! Check out some more quirky summer holidays to find one that suits your brand and audience.
